Get On Board To The Grammys!

My Article is "Grammys 2015: Highlights, winners and best moments"
I chose to write about the Grammy Awards because I am a huge fan of pop culture and enjoy watching most award shows. My story piece is from CBSnew.com and it talks about the winners, best moments and highlights leading up to the award show . The three components in this article are video, text and interactivity.
The text in this article gives a detailed yet simple look at "road to the televised show" if you will. The 57th annual Grammy Award show is being held Sunday February 8th in Los Angeles, CA at the infamous Staples Center. Already prior to the televised ceremony honors were handed out to the likes of  Rosanne Cash  who received three Grammys, and Beyonce, Pharrell Williams, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar each walked away with two awards. Beyonce won Best R&B song for her hit "Drunk In Love" and surround sound album for her self-titled album. Pharrell Williams "G I R L" took best music video for his hit "Happy". Eminem topped Iggy Azalea and won best rap album and won best rap/sung collaboration for "The Monster" with Rihanna. A touching highlight during this pre-show event was the award for best spoken album that was won by the late Joan Rivers for "Diary of a Mad Diva", Melissa Rivers accepted the honor and said "If my mother was here tonight, she would not only be honored and thrilled to be holding her first Grammy, she would most likely have it copied and on the air on QVC by 11". The hit Disney film "Frozen" soundtrack got two award including best compilation soundtrack for visual media. This year Beyonce and the group U2 make history, Beyonce for becoming the most-nominated female artist in Grammy history and U2 is now the most nominated group in history. This is certainly an exciting night for many artist including pop sensation Miley Cyrus who is nominated  for her first Grammy  for pop vocal album  for "Bangerz". There is an array list of presenters tonight including Taylor Swift, Enrique Iglesias, Jamie Foxx, and Gina Rodriguez  and that's to name a few.  The performances for tonight are said to be amazing and this article says that is likely to be a few surprises, performers include Brandy Clark, AC/DC, Tony Bennett, Herbie Hancock, Hozier, ELO, Jessie J, Tom Jones, Lady Gaga, Miranda Lambert Common, John Legend, Ariana Grande and Beck.
The video shows some slips of behind the scene rehearsal, as well as a few interviews with different celebs asking, from who they look forward to seeing perform as to how they feel about it. The video also showed snippets of celebs on the red carpet.
Interactivity is shown here because you are able to comment on the article as well as tweet, share on Facebook, Email and Stumble.

I thought the article  was very well written. Definitely kept my attention and made the build up to watch the televised award ceremony intrigued. There is nothing I would change it was simple, clear and to the chase.

  1. While I appreciate your enthusiasm, I was looking for more about the types/strengths of the media used and less of a recap. See Blackboard for your score.
